Robert Landes – Chief Executive Officer
Robert Landes is an Internet industry veteran who has led Fetch Technologies from a government-funded R&D firm to a leading provider of web extraction and aggregation services to companies ranging from Fortune 500 firms to startups. Prior to Fetch, Robert served as the CEO at Guidance Solutions, a leading provider of web development services. Under Robert’s leadership, Guidance grew sales from $1 million to $21 million within three years. Robert previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for L.A. Gear. He is a sought-after speaker on Internet venture capital markets, web development, and search and integration technologies. Robert received his B.S. in Sociology from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA and has also played basketball in the European professional league.
Dr. Steven Minton – Chairman
Dr. Steven Minton is an internationally recognized leader in Artificial Intelligence. After receiving his B.A. from Yale and his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon, he began his career as a Principal Investigator at NASA’s Ames Research Center. Steve later joined the faculty at the University of Southern California, where, together with Craig Knoblock and Yigal Arens, he led the research efforts that were eventually spun off to create Fetch Technologies. In addition to his work as a project leader and faculty member at USC, Steve founded the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR), one of the leading Computer Science journals, and served as its first Executive Editor. He was elected to be a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) in 1998. Steve has received numerous awards for his work in artificial intelligence, including the prestigious “Classic Paper” award presented by AAAI in 2008.
Mike Horowitz – Chief Product Officer
Mike Horowitz manages strategy, product management and marketing for Fetch Technologies. He came to Fetch from Google, where he spent over 5 years as part of the Product Management team managing Picasa/Picasa Web Albums, several AdSense businesses, and the Google Apps’ personalized start page. Mike launched the original AdSense product at Applied Semantics, has served on the management teams of several startups, and held positions at Microsoft and Deloitte Consulting. Mike received his MBA from UCLA and his bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
Timo Kissel – Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President Operations
Timo Kissel oversees engineering, data development and IT/operations. He has a successful track record of delivering market-leading software products and was responsible for the enterprise client security project portfolio for Symantec Corporation, served on the company’s patent committee and managed the development of Norton Antivirus, a best-selling consumer security product. Prior to his seven-year tenure at Symantec, Timo led the development of VMAx™ PC audio technology for Harman International which was licensed to Microsoft Corporation. Fluent in German and English, Timo holds a Dipl. Inf. (FH) computer science degree from the Fachhochschule für Technik in Mannheim, Germany and is an inventor on four U.S. Patents.
Shelli Paletz – Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President Finance
Shelli Paletz joined Fetch Technologies in April 2009 as SVP of Finance and COO. Shelli has more than 10 years of experience in accounting, finance and operations, and has held numerous posts in the Internet and Communications industries. Prior to joining Fetch Technologies, Shelli was VP of Finance and Operations at People Media, a top 10 ranked portfolio of more than 20 vertically focused online dating communities. She served as Chief Financial Officer of online storage pioneer Xdrive, Inc. until they were acquired by AOL in September of 2005. As Director of Business Operations at AOL, Shelli played a key role in integrating Xdrive, as well as leading the product and support functions. Shelli holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from UC Santa Barbara and an M.B.A. from University of San Francisco.
