Fetch is looking for a System Administrator.
Job Description:
- Manage/administer multiple remote, virtualized machines in a VMWare-based private cloud
- Manage the installation/configuration of Fetch software on those machines
- Production operations support / participation
- Operate and administer SQL Server 2008 instances in a high‐availability environment
- Install and configure SQL Server components using best practices, including clustering and mirroring
- Triage and solve issues that affect the operation of SQL Server instances (e.g., connection exhaustion, deadlock root cause identification, etc.)
- Backup and disaster recovery design + execution
- Occasional general system (networking, OS, etc) troubleshooting
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT
- Familiarity with managing virtual instances / VMWare
- Knowledgeable about operational procedures in a production environment
- Prior experience with SQL Server (2008 preferred)
- Prior experience with SQL Server monitoring and capacity planning
- Familiarity/experience with SAN-based SQL Server installation/configuration
- Experience with MySQL (used on some systems) a plus
